An organic electroluminescent element comprises an anode and a cathode having therebetween a light emitting layer, wherein the light emitting layer comprises a guest compound having a substructure represented by Formula (C) and a host compound represented by Formula (1): where Rarepresents an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, and alkynyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aromatic hydrocarbon group, an aromatic heterocyclic group or a heterocyclic group; Rb and Rc are each hydrogen or a substituent, A1 represents a group of atoms necessary to form an aromatic hydrocarbon ring or an aromatic heterocycle, M is Ir or Pt, and wherein Ra1 is an alkyl group, and alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, a cycloalkyl group or a heterocyclic group, R1, R2and R5each are hydrogen or a substituent, and n1, n2 and n5 are each 0-4. |
