PURPOSE: An image identification apparatus and method are provided to offer the effectiveness of storage capacity and tenacity for geometrical distortion. CONSTITUTION: Using a specific variable and a user input signal, a resolution normalization unit(100) normalizes static images to a specific size. A feature area extractor(200) extracts an intrinsic specific area from the normalized image of the resolution normalization unit. Using the intrinsic specific area extracted through the feature area extractor, a global histogram generator(300) acquires an image identifier.
