ENERGY SENSITIVE, X-RAY SINGLE PHOTON COUNTING READOUT CHIP AND PILE-UP COMPENSATING METHOD

PURPOSE: An energy selective X-ray single photon counting readout chip and a pile-up compensating method are provided to prevent a pile-up due to noise and continuous photon signals by including two discriminators. CONSTITUTION: A CSA(Charge Sensitive Amplifier)(210) accumulates electrons or holes from an X-ray detector and outputs an SIGC. A discriminator outputs SIGH and SIGL by comparing the SIGC with a first threshold value and a second threshold value. A WDL(Double Discriminator Logic) outputs SIGOUT according to the comparison result by comparing the SIGH with the SIGL. A counter counts SIGOUT and transmits the counting number. The discriminator includes a first discriminator(221) and a second discriminator(222).
