<p>Cold workable magnet alloy, for use in semi-stationary memories, reed type electromagnetic switches or hysteresis motors, comprises 15-42% Co., 5-16% Ni, 0-9% Cr, up to 11% Mo, up to 10% W, wuch that Cr+ (Mo-2)+(v-1) is from 3-9%, up to 1% each of one or more of Al, Mn, Nb, S, Ti and Zr, up to 0.1% C, the balance, apart from impurities, being Fe. An exemplary alloy comprises 0.04% C.33.9% Co, 8.54% Ni, 6.69% Cr and 1.06% Mo, the balance being Fe which was quenched from 1050 degrees C and aged at 600 degrees C and another exemplary alloy comprises 0.021% C, 33.3% Co, 8.3% Ni, 2.57% Cr, 4.18% Mo, the balance being Fe which is quenched from 950 degrees C and aged at 550-600 degrees C.</p> |
