<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retardation plate contributing to expansion of a visual field angle of a liquid crystal display and having excellent durability. <P>SOLUTION: In the retardation plate wherein a transparent supporting body, an alignment layer comprising a polymer and an optical anisotropic layer having at least one liquid crystalline compound are formed in this order, at least one compound of compounds represented by general formula (1) is contained in the optical anisotropic layer. In general formula (1), X<SP>1</SP>denotes a bivalent bonded group, Z denotes a substituent having a polymerizable group and Q denotes a group which can be adsorbed and bonded to the alignment layer (the compound may not have Z). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
