<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game device that increases the degree of a player's technical intervention allowed in such a game as a role-playing game(RPG) and improves the total amusingness of the game, a program that realizes the game if the device comprises a computer or the like, and a recording medium with the program recorded. SOLUTION: The game device displays a plurality of characters 111 to 113 on a screen 16 and determines modes of behavior of the characters 111 to 113 on the basis of a player's command selection to execute a story-evolving game on the screen 16. During the game execution, a variable display region 100 with a rotating bar 101 rotating clockwise and timing areas 102 to 104 is displayed on the screen 16. The effect of the mode of behavior of the character is determined by whether the player has made an input operation during the passage of the rotating bar 101 over the timing areas 102 to 104 or not.
