<p>PURPOSE: The cord of the stiffening layer is installed to restrict the deformation of the thread adjacent to the main groove so that the control stability can be improved. CONSTITUTION: A pneumatic tire(2) comprises a thread(4), a stiffening layer(16), and an inner liner(18). The thread comprises the shoulder main groove(24). It localized, the stiffening layer exists as to the axial direction. The stiffening layer locates as to the radial direction between the carcass and belt(12). In the stiffening layer is the radial direction about the shoulder main groove, it locates in the inner side. The stiffening layer includes a plurality of cords and the topping rubber arranged. Each cord extends in the axial direction. The width Wr of the stiffening layer is 200%~500% of the width Wg of the shoulder main groove.</p> |
