FIELD: physics. ^ SUBSTANCE: image forming apparatus has a secondary carrier roller which guides the front end of recording material which enters the secondary transfer contact area such that, this end is directed into the secondary carrying contact zone and contact is prevented between the front end of the recording material and the toner image, lying on an intermediate carrier element before the recording material enters the secondary transfer contact zone. Also, in the image forming apparatus, the surface of the carrier roller is smoothed so that the front end of the recording material is directed into the secondary transfer contact zone. As a result, the invention prevents distortion of the toner image lying on the intermediate transfer element by the front end of the recording material. ^ EFFECT: design of apparatus which sets the front edge of recording material along the carrier element for moving the recording material into the contact zone formed by the element carrying the toner image, and a carrier element, and avoiding lack of toner image. ^ 26 cl, 5 dwg |
