A method of manufacturing wood-straw boards relates to production of the chip boards and can be used in woodworking industry. The method of manufacturing wood-straw boards includes operations of manufacturing of wood and straw particles, drying the particles, mixing the particles with an adhesive, forming and prepressing a chip mat, pressing boards. The novelty of the method is that the straw particles prior to operations of their mixing with the wood particles and mixing with the adhesive are subject to hydrothermal treatment in the form of steaming or boiling at the temperature of 90-100 °C. After the treatment the straw particles are dried to specified moisture content, mixed with the wood particles and fed to operation of mixing with the adhesive. Thanks to the fact that straw particles before their mixing with an adhesive undergo additional processing thus are improving physical and mechanical properties of the boards, extending raw material resources for production of boards, saving valuable wood raw material. |
