FIELD: process engineering. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to carrier housing for catalytically active coat used for afterpurification of automotive exhaust gases. Carrier housing 1 with total surface area 7 that has one section 8 of the coat with catalytically active coat 2 comprising at least one type catalyst elements 32 dispersed on surface 35 of carrier housing1. Note here that: catalyst elements 32 features mean spacing 34 along the surface equal to at least 3 mcm, surface 35 has mean roughness depth Rz equal to 2 to 10 mcm. Carrier housing 1 features maximum increase in head drop equal to 25% as compared with smooth-surface housing. Method of producing above described carrier housing 1 with total surface area 7 with at least one section 8 with catalytically active coat 2, comprises the following steps: a) preparing carrier housing 1 with smooth surface (35); b) determining head drop for said housing at preset ambient conditions; c) producing surface (35) with mean roughness depth Rz, equal to 2 to 10 mcm. Carrier housing 1 features maximum increase in head drop equal to 25% as compared with smooth-surface housing; d) arranging catalyst elements (32) dispersed along the surface with mean spacing 34 of at least 3 mcm. Invention covers also exhaust gas purification device 25 incorporating at least one carrier housing 1 produced as described above, and transport facility incorporating said device. ^ EFFECT: improved conversion of harmful substances in afterpurification of exhaust gases. ^ 20 cl, 10 dwg
