The train has an electric machine (1) permitting driving of wheels of a vehicle by a speed changing mechanism on two distinct ratios. The speed changing mechanism has a main shaft (6) for holding idler gears (8, 9), a secondary shaft (13) for holding fixed pinions (11, 12) and a middle reduction shaft (16) arranged between the secondary shaft and a ring gear (18) of the vehicle. An interlocking group (21) has a hub (22) and a sliding gear (23), and is intercalated between the idler gears. An independent claim is also included for a coupling device comprising a hub.
