PURPOSE: A cutting insert and a tool assembly therewith are provided to be securely and stably installed inside a pocket and to form multiple cutting edges in the edge of the side surfaces of the cutting insert. CONSTITUTION: A cutting insert(100) comprises a top surface(150), a bottom surface, a center hole(170), and first, second, third, and fourth side surfaces(110,120,130,140). The center hole passes through the top and bottom surfaces. The side surfaces connect the top and bottom surfaces. Each side surface is horizontally convex. Round top and bottom cutting edges(E11,E21,E31,E41,E12,E22,E42) are formed in the boundaries between the top and bottom surfaces.
