The device has a retractable panel extended in a horizontal position between upper end of a raised base (A) of a motor vehicle and a rear window shelf (T) of the vehicle. Lateral faces (3, 4) are articulated along longitudinal edge of the panel while considering longitudinal axis of the vehicle. A fixation unit fixes the lateral faces on a folded backrest (D) of a seat of the vehicle and on an unfolded backrest of the seat. The panel has articulated faces (1, 2) that are articulated around a transversal folding line.
