PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly sterilize a flange and its vicinity of a cup carried by a retainer. SOLUTION: The cup 1 having the flange 3 is supported by the retainer 9, and mist (a) of hydrogen peroxide is sprayed against an internal surface of the cup supported by the retainer so as to sterilize the internal surface of the cup. After a cup opening is covered with a lid plate 22 having a peripheral edge 22a for forming a gap Q in a height direction of the cup from the flange of the cup supported by the retainer and having a blow-out hole 22b at the center, the mist of hydrogen peroxide is blown into the cup through the blow-out hole. Thus, pressure loss when discharging the mist of hydrogen peroxide is reduced, the mist can be stably blown, and the hydrogen peroxide can be easily attached to the flange or a lower part of the flange, thereby improving sterilization performance.
