PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a liquid filling apparatus in which a needle of a filling nozzle thereof is kept out of contact with outside air during standby period. SOLUTION: The liquid filling apparatus includes a filling nozzle 12 that fills a closed container 3 with a liquid by inserting a needle 122 thereinto, and a standby container 15 that houses the needle 122 when the liquid is not filled in the closed container 3. A needle base 123 fitted into a sealing member 152 when the needle 122 is housed in the standby container 15, is provided at the root of the needle 122 via a through-hole 152a formed in the sealing member 152 of the standby container 15.
