<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a commodity sales data processing apparatus that facilitates determining whether obligations on pharmaceutical laws have been fulfilled on the shop side to provide a sense of security to a customer when a commodity purchased by the customer is general medicines. <P>SOLUTION: The commodity sales data processing apparatus which issues a receipt relating to transaction contents stores qualifications of respective shop assistants and accepts signing-on of respective shop assistants. A prescribed commodity section assigned to a commodity to be sold is discriminated, and a shop assistant having authority to sell the commodity is predetermined among shop assistants whose signing-on has been accepted, on the basis of qualifications of respective shop assistants and the commodity section.
