PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continue cylinder cut-off control even if abnormality occurs on a control means executing fuel injection control under a condition where engine cylinder cut-off control is executed. SOLUTION: A main microcomputer of a left bank control ECU monitors a main microcomputer of a right bank control ECU in a state of one bank operation where fuel injection control is executed only for cylinders of a right bank. If abnormality occurs on the main microcomputer of the right bank control ECU (S104:NO), operation is changed over to one bank operation state where fuel injection control is executed for only cylinders of a left bank (S109, S108). Consequently, one bank operation can be continued by the normal main microcomputer 11 of the left bank control ECU even if abnormality occurs on the main microcomputer of the right bank control ECU.
