PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hemostatic containing a compound which inhibits the function of ADAM8 as an active ingredient and to provide a blood coagulation inhibitor containing a compound which enhances the function of ADAM8 as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: It has been verified by using a living individual that blood circulation is inhibited by the inhibition of the expression of ADAM8, which leads to the formation of a thrombus and it has been found out that this molecule promotes blood circulation and has the activity of inhibiting the formation of a thrombus. Further, it has been elucidated that ADAM8 functions as a protease having a limited proteolytic activity of eliminating a selectin binding site for glycoprotein PSGL-1 associated with blood coagulation and blood cell transfer.
