METALLIC ELECTROLYTIC CAPACITOR, AND ABSORBENT AND LEAKAGE PREVENTION MATERIAL FOR METALLIC ELECTROLYTIC CAPACITOR

A metallic electrolytic capacitor is provided in which the gas of the operating electrolytic solution and other substances which eject when the explosion-proof valve works can be rapidly absorbed and affixed to significantly reduce the leakage. The capacitor includes an aluminum electrolytic capacitor main body (1) comprising a bottomed cylindrical metallic case (2) constituted of aluminum and capacitor elements held therein. A pair of lead wires (3a, 3b) extends from the capacitor elements, and the top (2a) of the metallic case (2) has an explosion-proof valve (4) formed therein which is constituted of a thin-walled part approximately in the shape of +, K, etc. A bottomed cylindrical cap (6) as a casing has been affixed from above to the capacitor main body (1), the top (bottomed part) (6a) of this cap (6) having a plurality of small holes (7, 7, ···) formed therein. An absorbent wrapped in a permeable fibrous material (8), such as a nonwoven fabric or filter paper, or a mixture (9) of an absorbent and a water molecular compound has been disposed in the space (S) between the cap (6) and the top (2a) of the capacitor main body (1).
