<p>A stereoscopic image display apparatus comprises an image generation unit (4) which uses a first image and second image captured by two imaging units, which are disposed such that there is a first distance between the optical axes, and generates two images from two different perspectives disposed at a wider distance than the first distance between the optical axes; and a display unit (10) which displays the two images generated by the image generation unit (4) such that the images can be separately observed by the respective two eyes. The image generation unit (4) comprises a coordinate conversion unit which converts the coordinates of at least one image among the captured first image and second image per constituent element of that image such that the disparity between the two images generated by the image generation unit (4) becomes the disparity between the two different perspectives, and an image interpolation unit which generates, by interpolation, image information for the pixels that the image information had lost due to the conversion of the coordinates.</p> |
