<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for operating a printed matter carrier installation to produce different types of printed matters at folding parts on the operation side and on the drive side of a rotary press while efficiently carrying them into a counter stacker without mixing them in the counter stacker. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of carrier patterns as combined patterns of the counter stackers CS1-3 to be used are preset in which single delivery using one of carrier lines 2a, 2b on the operation side and on the drive side and double delivery using both of them are each carried out by switching unloading conveyors 3a-3b to be connected to one another. When there is a time difference between starting and finishing to print the different types of printed matters, mutual pattern transfer is performed between the carrier pattern for the double delivery and the carrier pattern for the single delivery, accordingly.
