A connector assembly (4) includes a connector (1) and a cover (2). The connector includes a body portion (11) having a mating portion (112), and a shielding shell (10) attached to the body portion and formed with a pair of protrusions (1013). The cover defines a pair of sliding slots (230). The cover covers on said mating portion of the connector in a closed position and is separated from the mating portion along with the protrusions sliding in the sliding slots in an opened position.
