Provided is a pi junction SQUID having a new-type pi junction using a spin triplet superconductor and a spin singlet superconductor. The pi junction SQUID is composed of a superconducting loop having a pi junction of [spin singlet superconductor/spin triplet superconductor/spin singlet superconductor]. The pi junction SQUID is formed so as to have a substrate (2) composed of a single crystal of the spin triplet conductor and a loop layer (31) of the spin singlet superconductor formed on the surface of the substrate.
