<p>Disclosed is an alkaline dry battery which comprises a positive electrode comprising manganese dioxide, a negative electrode comprising zinc, a separator arranged between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, and an alkaline electrolytic solution. The separator has an air permeability of 0.5 to 5.0 ml/sec/cm2. Manganese dioxide has an electric potential of 270 to 330 mV (vs. Hg/HgO). The alkaline electrolytic solution contains zinc oxide in an amount of 2 to 4.5% by weight. The alkaline dry battery does not undergo fluid leakage even when charged by mistake and has excellent discharge properties and reliability.</p> |
