PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an additive for water treatment and a water treatment apparatus for supplying mixed water having a substantially fixed concentration while downsizing the water treatment apparatus. SOLUTION: The additive 1 is formed by being solidified into a tablet shape while having a three-layer structure of an outer layer 2, a middle layer 3 and an inner layer 4 having different constitution of additive components in each layer, the outer layer 2 having the largest surface area is constituted with the additive component having low solubility, the inner layer 4 having the smallest surface area is constituted with the additive component having high solubility and the middle layer 3 located in the middle is constituted with the additive component having solubility of the intermediate extent between the outer layer 2 and the inner layer 4, whereby, even when the additive 1 is dissolved and the surface area decreases, the component having a substantially fixed concentration can be mixed with water.
