PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner efficiently exhausting air on the side of a fan of a motor blower to the outside of a body, while suppressing noise. SOLUTION: A partition wall 16 horizontally separating and parallely disposing a motor blower chamber 3 and a power source cord storing chamber 17, is provided with a suction inlet 18 for making an exhaust flow from a plurality of fan-side exhaust ports 7 of a fan portion 5 of the motor blower 4 to the outside of the vacuum cleaner body. On the back side when viewing the vacuum cleaner body from the back side, a fan-side exhaust port 7 positioned within a substantially triangular range formed of two lines connecting the rotation center of the fan portion 5 and the upper and lower ends of the suction inlet 18, respectively, and the suction inlet 18, and a fan-side exhaust port 7 positioned within a range formed such that the substantially triangular range is rotated clockwise and counterclockwise about the rotation center of the fan portion 5 by a predetermined angle, are closed to prevent the flowing out of the exhaust. The exhaust from the fan portion 5 is efficiently discharged, wind noise or high-frequency sound caused at the fan portion 5 is hard to transmit to the outside of the body, and noise is suppressed.
