PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the breakage of a belt reinforcing layer which causes a failure by preventing the contact between the steel cord of the belt reinforcing layer and the edge part of a belt cord while improving maneuvering stability and durability by the belt reinforcing layer by utilizing the original characteristics of the steel cord having a high modulus. SOLUTION: When a pneumatic radial tire in which the belt reinforcing layer 8 including cords stretching substantially in parallel along the tire circumference is formed on the peripheral side of a belt layer 6, a rubber sheet 11 is irradiated with electron beams to pre-vulcanize the rubber sheet 11. The pre-vulcanized rubber sheet 11 is wound onto the belt layer 6. The belt reinforcing layer 8 is formed by winding the steel cord coated with rubber from above the rubber sheet 11 to produce a green tire. The green tire is vulcanization-molded by pushing it to a split mold without substantially expanding it during vulcanization. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
