A screw tap (10) comprising a shaft (12) and a thread cutter (13) provided at the free end, and a clamping surface (14) disposed on the shaft are described in which a design break point (15) is provided in the area of the other end, said screw tap breaking off at said break point when a breaking load is applied. Also described is a tool holder (31) for a drilling machine, a rotating machine or a machining center comprising a clamping means (33) for a tool, in particular a screw tap, and comprising a drive shaft (35). The clamping means (33) is mounted in the tool holder (31) in a moveable manner in the longitudinal direction, said means capable of being brought to a retracted position in the tool holder by way of compression springs (46). |
