Provided is a converter control device which can effectively drive a multi-phase DC-DC converter. A request power detection unit detects an FC request power in accordance with input information from respective sensors. A phase quantity switching control unit compares the detected FC request power to an efficiency curve C stored in advance in a memory so as to judge whether the drive phase quantity switching timing has come. When the FC request power is suddenly increased by operation of an accelerator pedal and it is detected that the FC request power exceeds the FC power Wp1 at the efficiency peak point, the phase quantity switching control unit judges that the timing to switch the drive phase quantity from a one-phase mode to a two-phase mode has come and decides a power distribution so as to hold the state at the power conversion efficiency peak point P12 of the priority drive phase in accordance with the efficiency curve C and compensate an insufficient power of the priority drive phase in the other phases.
