<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmitter/receiver module having shielding properties with respect to electromagnetic waves and allowing transmission of electric current and electrical signals through a metal-coated optical fiber. <P>SOLUTION: A first optical fiber 15 optically connected to a light emitting element 12 and a second optical fiber 16 optically connected to a light receiving element 13 are metal-coated optical fibers, having respective metal coatings 15a and 16a on the surfaces. In a package 20 wherein a box-shaped box body 21 formed of an insulating material and coated with conductive coatings 23 and 24 on both sides of the package 20, the conductive coatings 23 and 24 are electrically independent of each other; and one conductive coating 23 is electrically connected to the metal coating 15a of one optical fiber 15, while the other conductive coating 24 is electrically connected to the metal coating 16a of the other optical fiber 16. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
