<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and an image forming system capable of securing proper image quality and preventing increase in the waiting time for users. <P>SOLUTION: It is determined whether an adjusting execution condition is established, during a high-speed duplex printing process (a high-speed duplex printing sequence). When establishment is decide, there is an adjusting priority process performing image quality adjustment before the establishment of the adjusting execution condition and the start of the high-speed duplex printing process can be carried out. When image adjustment is carried out by the adjusting priority process before the establishment of the adjusting execution condition, proper image quality is secured.
