PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology to reliably and speedily notify a user that his or her vehicle is reversely running. SOLUTION: A device for detecting reverse run includes: a notification processing part for receiving data indicating an arrival direction of a vehicle that is a reception object of information from a roadside unit that distributes information to a vehicle; a present position calculation part for specifying the present position and the traveling direction of a vehicle; a part for detecting the reverse run that compares the arrival direction of a vehicle specified by the data received from the roadside unit with the travelling direction specified by the present position calculation part, and detects whether or not the vehicle is reversely running; and an indication processing part for notifying when it is detected that the vehicle is reversely running.
