PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic welding apparatus that has excellent productivity and that can reduce tool cost. SOLUTION: In the ultrasonic welding apparatus, two planar workpieces overlapped on each other are welded by being held with an anvil and a horn 120 and by being ultrasonically vibrated. The horn 120 is divided into a driving part 130 to which ultrasonic vibration is imparted and a tool module 140 which has a holding face 142 in which a recessed and projected groove is formed to come in contact with one of the planar workpieces. The boundary between the driving part 130 and the tool module 140 is situated in the knot of vibration of the horn 120. The tool module 140 is freely attachably/detachably fastened to the driving part 130 so that the holding face 142 can rotate in 90 degree arc around a shaft S2 extending orthogonally to the holding face 142.
