PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image output apparatus for accurately outputting color space information in image data production. SOLUTION: A CPU 31 of a color printer 20 performs gamma correction and a matrix operation M on RGB color space image data derived from a matrix S operation. The CPU 31 performs gamma conversion on video data using established gamma values. Matrix operation M converts the RGB color space to the XYZ color space. When executing matrix operation M, the CPU 31 refers to a color space tag in order to reflect the matrix operation with color space in image data production and performs the matrix operation using a matrix (M) corresponding to color space written.
