ADDRESS REFRESH METHOD AND SYSTEM

An address refresh method and a system are disclosed. The method includes: when a link experiences a state transition between a link failure and a failure recovery, the address forwarding table is refreshed by the node in which the port associated with said link is located, a PF flag for indicating an operation to suspend refreshing of the address forwarding table is set on the other ports, and the protocol message carrying the address refresh information is sent to the other nodes; when the protocol message is received by the port of the other nodes, the address forwarding table is refreshed only when the identification information carried by the protocol message does not match that stored in the port, and when a PF flag is not set on the port. The method and system can judge whether the address forwarding table should be refreshed according to the PF flag, and determine whether the address forwarding table should be refreshed based on the judgment result.
