The device (100) has a valve section (50) controlled by an engine control unit (17) for injecting fuel through a nozzle opening (44). A limiting part is arranged at a side of a cylinder-shaped element (56). A valve element (60) has a contact section, and a chamber is formed between the cylinder-shaped and valve elements. The chamber is connected with a free space between the limiting part and the contact section when the opening is closed by the valve element, where a perimeter of the chamber is defined by the elements (56, 60) when the limiting part strikes against the contact section.
