<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately control fuel pressure in an accumulator by allowing discharge of a desired quantity of fuel from a high-pressure pump to the accumulator. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel supply system for an engine includes a high-pressure pump 30 discharging fuel in a fuel tank 11 to a high-pressure side with pressure, and a delivery pipe 13 storing the high-pressure fuel discharged from the pump 30, and the system is controlled by an ECU 50. The ECU 50 controls at least one of fuel discharge quantity of the high-pressure pump 20 and fuel pressure in the delivery pipe 13 to a requested value by controlling the closing period of a solenoid valve 30. The ECU 50 detects a condition of the fuel, and performs the control of the closing period of the solenoid valve 30 based on the requested value such as fuel discharge quantity or the like and the detected fuel state.
