PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a router apparatus for providing, to an apparatus being present in lower order, information required for executing a predetermined function of a router apparatus being present in higher order. SOLUTION: When a wireless LAN access point 13 receives an advertising packet for an UPnP IGD function from a broadband router 12 being present in higher order than itself, the wireless LAN access point 13 discriminates from the reception of the advertising packet that a router is present in higher order than itself. When the wireless LAN access point 13 discriminates that a router apparatus is present in higher order than itself, the wireless LAN access point then provides information about the UPnP IGD function stored in the advertising packet to a PC 14 being present in lower order than itself, so that the PC 14 is enabled to obtain a setting page of the broadband router 12 that is a router apparatus being present in higher order than the wireless LAN access point.
