PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinning reel for fishing, which hardly adheres a grease or an oil to a braking portion, and has a stable rotor-braking characteristic. SOLUTION: This spinning reel for fishing, which reversibly supports a bail-supporting member 9 having a line guide portion at a line-winding position and a line-releasing position is characterized in that the spinning reel has a kick lever 33 moved in interlock with the reverse operation of the bail-supporting member, and a cover body 40 which is detachably disposed in the front portion of the reel body 2, is extended along the inner wall 3D of the cylindrical portion 3B of a rotor 3, and is disposed at a prescribed distance from the inner wall 3D; and the kick lever 33 can be contacted with the outer surface of the cover body 40 to impart a braking force to the rotation of the rotor 3, when the bail-supporting member is reversed to the line-releasing position.
