PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coronode charging device of low cost or long lifetime. SOLUTION: The coronode charging device 10 used for charging a photoreceptor 70 includes a support member, a filament 30, a regulation mechanism, and a voltage source 20 for supplying a voltage to the filament. The filament 30 is arranged along the support member. The filament 30 is arranged also to form a plurality of active regions and a plurality of nonactive regions in the filament 30 and is arranged to locate the active regions adjacent to the photoreceptor 70. The regulation mechanism moves the filament, to make portions corresponding to the active regions move out of the filament 30, to positions corresponding to the nonactive regions, and to make some portions located in a nonactive portion move out of the filament 30, to positions corresponding to the active regions.
