PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the measurement accuracy by implementing a proper preprocess before an exhaust gas component is measured. SOLUTION: In the preprocess, an adsorption material 11 of an air refinement machine 2 is purged by high temperature refined air. An exhaust manifold 7 is purged by the high-temperature refined air. A sampling apparatus 4 is purged during a purge of the exhaust manifold 7. After the purge, it determines whether the purge of the sampling apparatus 4 is completed by using low-temperature refined air. After a purge completion is determined, the air refinement machine 2 is diagnosed by using the low-temperature refined air. The entire system is diagnosed by using a calibration gas.
