PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive polymer suspension for providing a highly conductive polymer material, a method of production thereof, a solid electrolytic capacitor having low ESR and a manufacturing method thereof. SOLUTION: The conductive polymer suspension is produced by: carrying out a chemical oxidative polymerization of a monomer yielding a conductive polymer using an oxidizing agent in a solvent containing a dopant comprising an organic acid or a salt thereof so as to synthesize the conductive polymer; purifying the conductive polymer; mixing the purified conductive polymer with an oxidizing agent in an aqueous solvent containing a polyacid; and adding imidazoles to the same.
