PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce afterimage (shadow) of a moving part produced, when displaying a moving picture at double the speed, using a conventional space frequency separating system by an amount of calculation less than requested by a conventional by compensation of moving frame (field)-interpolating system. SOLUTION: The moving vector of an object displayed on each image is obtained by using an input image and following image. When a pixel of at a pixel position P in duplicated images is an object to be processed, a pixel; a pixel position Q separated by a predetermined distance in a direction opposite to a moving vector from a pixel position P in inputted image is specified. The pixel value at the pixel position P in the duplicated image is renewed with a value obtained, by applying a filter to a group of pixels in an area with the specified pixel position Q as a center.
