PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tray which protects a cam shaft during transfer, and improves assembly workability of the cam shaft. SOLUTION: This tray 1 includes a main storage portion 3 which is structured concave with an upward opening and able to store a cam shaft 31 and a cap storage portion 4 able to store a cam cap 41 having a bearing surface 43 for supporting the journal 37 of the cam shaft 31. The cap storage portion 4 includes a first storage portion 21 for storing one end of the cam cap 41 and a second storage portion 22 for storing the other end of the cam cap at a position corresponding to the journal 37 of the cam shaft 31 stored in the main storage portion 3. The portion 21 is provided at a position facing the portion 22 across the main storage portion 3. By storing the cam shaft 31 and the cam cap 41 in the main storage portion 3 and the cap storage portion 4, the bearing surface 43 of the cam cap 41 faces the top surface of the journal 37 of the cam shaft 31.
