PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit degradation of one on one side from among suspensions on both sides to be restrained without causing a price increase and a bad effect of becoming apt to transmit vibrations of a water tank to a floor surface when the rotation of a drum reaches a high-speed spin-drying rotation level. SOLUTION: The drum-type washing machine makes a load to be equally imposed on the suspensions on both sides by controlling the rotation of the drum when the rotation of the drum during spin-drying is started and the rotating speed is increased so as to make the number of rotations nearly equal in both normal and reverse rotation directions (S1 to S7). As the result, the washing machine does not cause such a price increase as in a type which makes the damping performance of a laundry descent side suspension higher than that of a laundry ascent side suspension and in addition, does not cause the adverse effect of becoming apt to transmit the vibrations of the water tank to a washing machine installation surface when the rotation of the drum reaches a high-speed spin-drying rotation level and suppresses degradation of the suspension on one side.
