The ram reciprocating part 22 of the telescopic jib is mounted by a lug 21 and brackets 19 on the boom, and a ram 24 is connected between its other end and a depending lug 25 on the end of the boom. The reciprocating part 23 of the boom carries a cradle 27 for a pneumatic hammer 28. The jib comprises two parts 22, 23 of rectangular crosssection, the reciprocable part 23 having rails 34, 35, Fig. 2 on its top and bottom faces engaging rollers 36, 37 mounted on the non- reciprocable part 22. The rollers are flanged at their inner sides to take side thrusts, and the roller shafts have flutted ends held in place by caps 44, Fig. 3. Shims 45 enable any wear in the rollers or rails to be taken up. The operating cylinder 31 for telescoping the jib is housed within it. |
