The present disclosure is directed to switching RFID tags (120). The RFID system includes an RFID tag (120) and a panel. The panel (210, 310) includes one or more contacts configured to move between a first position and a second position. The second position forms an electrical connection between the RFID tag and the one or more contacts to update a state of the RFID tag.
