PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the attachment and detachment of a recording medium to/from a portable terminal body and to prevent the mounting part of a storage medium from being exposed during normal use. SOLUTION: The portable terminal includes a first casing and a second casing slidably engaged with the first casing. A first extended state wherein the second casing is slid in a first direction and a storage medium mounting part disposed in the first casing or the second casing is not exposed and a second extended state wherein the second casing is slid in a second direction different from the first direction and the storage medium mounting part disposed in the first casing or the second casing is exposed are selected.
