PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a static eliminator by which powerful destaticization can be carried out without impairing stability of corona discharge although compressed air is used. SOLUTION: The static eliminator includes a discharge needle, covers constituted so as to surround the discharge needle, and wind protectors arranged between the discharge needle and the covers so that the compressed air is not directed to the discharge needle. The static eliminator furthermore may have ion accumulating members arranged at nearly the tip part of the discharge needle so as to form a bypass of the compressed air. The static eliminator also may have the discharge needle, a compressed air supply means which supplies the compressed air against the discharge needle, and a compressed air dividing means which directs a part of the compressed air supplied from the compressed air supply means to the discharge needle and in which the rest of the compressed air by-passes.
