PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation detecting apparatus that allows the manufacturing process to be simplified and manufacturing cost to be reduced. SOLUTION: The rotation detecting apparatus 1 includes a detection means 2 for detecting a magnetic change, a connector part 3 having a terminal 8 for external drawing, a body part 4 having the detection means 2 and the connector part 3, and a cap part 5 for covering the detection means 2. The rotation detecting apparatus 1 further includes a projection part 10 that is provided at the outer periphery of the body part 4 and is outwardly projected, and a groove part 12 that is provided on the cap part 5 and is jointed with the projection part 10. The groove part 12 includes a first passage 13 that is formed in an uncinate shape for moving the projection part 10 in a direction of inserting the body part 4 into the cap part 5, a second passage 14 for moving the projection part 10 in a rotational direction around an axis of the inserting direction, and a third passage 15 for moving the projection part 10 in a direction opposite to the direction of inserting the body part 4 into the cap part 5.
